Want to carve your very own pumpkin, or three? Come to the farm to help get our pumpkins ready for Appleton Farms Kids Pumpkin Trail ! Families are welcome to bring snacks & BYOB to enjoy while carving. All pumpkins have to stay on the farm for the trail, but if you help carve a few we encourage you to come for FREE and see if you can find your own creation along the way!
Rebel Shakespeare is offering a 14 week Winter/Spring Shakespeare Program that will culminate in a full-length production of Shakespeare's comedy MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING! Students will meet every Tuesday and Thursday, beginning January 15th - through May 2nd. Weekly rehearsals in Marblehead, with a final outdoor performance on the weekend of May 4th and 5th.
Join The Trustees of Reservations for an afternoon hiking tour of Choate Island. What could be better than a Choate Island hike AND picnic? This special spot is the jewel in the crown of the Crane Wildlife Refuge, and is only accessible by boat. Join us for a rare chance to explore the cultural and natural history of this treasure. Participants will be led on a modest trek that will go past the Proctor Barn, White Cottage, and Choate House before landing all the way to the top of the island where spectacular views await. A picnic lunch (sandwich, fruit, cookie, drink) for each participant will be prepared by our award-winning Inn at Castle Hill.
The Walk to End Homelessness unites friends, family and volunteers in support of families who are getting a fresh start. We'll enjoy coffee, juice and breakfast snacks at Lynch Park before our 3-mile stroll through the heart of the Beverly and along the shore. Back at Lynch Park, we'll enjoy more refreshments and celebrate our success. Please support The Walk to reverse the downward spiral of poverty on the North Shore, one family at a time.
Rosebud Newborn Class in Waldorf School at Moraine Farm Parent & Child Program
Waldorf School at Moraine Farm Parent & Child Program presents Rosebud Newborn Class for parents with newborns up to age 6 months.
The class is led by experienced early childhood educators. Parents will learn lullabies and games to play with their babies. Teachers will share observation practices to strengthen parents’ intuitive knowledge to help them better understand and care for their baby. Themes such as developmental stages, sleep, warmth, and your new role as a parent will be explored. Freshly baked bread and tea are served for parents and a nurturing home environment welcomes and surrounds adults and babies.

Hear from Nancy Harrison, Ed.D., School Psychologist at Epstein Hillel School, how to infuse your preschool classroom with a growth mindset. A growth mindset enables children to embrace challenge and persist despite frustration and potential failure. You as teachers can assist your students, even in their early years, in gaining these invaluable skills. Lunch will be provided at this free program and PDPs are available to early childhood educators.

Brookwood School is excited to announce its upcoming Open Classrooms event for prospective families. On Monday, January 28, 2019 from 8:45-11:30 a.m., interested parents of children entering grades PreK through 8 are invited to the school to enjoy a morning of sampling classes. A full schedule of classes will be available during the event and will feature a variety of disciplines and grade levels.
