Second Fridays at MIT Museum: Solar Art & Science

Come learn about solar science and art at MIT Museum in Cambridge Massachusetts!

Get a jump start on your weekend with the Second Friday Program at the MIT Museum! The March 2014 Second Friday encourages visitors to explore the beauty, function, and technological potential of solar lights through a series of discussions with MIT scientists and 2014 Eugene McDermott Award recipient Olafur Eliasson.

Abbot Public Library Lego Club

Children in grades 1-6 are welcome to join our monthly Lego Club at the library. The club will meet the second Thursday afternoon each month, at 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm to build unique Lego constructions. Kids need to supply their own Lego pieces, and take them home again after each meeting.

Each month we will have a building theme, and for the February 13 meeting, it will be “animals.

Please no theme sets, but kids can mix pieces from various sets. Refreshments will be provided and registration is required.

Embracing Family History at Sawyer Free

Sawyer Free Library and the Cape Ann Museum invite families to a presentation on personal family history.  Learn how to use family records to research your own family and history and learn what life was like for your ancestors! Children will see examples of old-fashioned Cape Ann Samplers and family trees, and then create their very own sampler, and paint their own family tree.
