CAM Kids Celebration Series: Virginia Lee Burton

This CAM Kids Celebration will focus on author & illustrator Virgina Lee Burton.

The CAM Kids Celebrations Series a monthly program for families with young children.  Each month, an artist will be selected that celebrates a birthday that month, and a celebration of their work will be presented to families in the form of a celebration!  This month the celebration is for Virginia Lee Burton, founder of the Folly Cove Designers and a local award-winning children's book author.

Virginia Lee Burton authored and illustrated some of the most memorable books ever written for children, and won the 1942 Caldecott Medal for The Little House (Sandpiper Books) .  She went on to author many children's books with wonderful illustrations depicting the adventures of her well developed characters, all with happy endings.
