Beverly's New Year Celebration 2011

The North Shore's Best Family-Friendly Celebration of the New Year!

Downtown Beverly will be home to a 20-foot dragon, a fire-eating stilt walker, snakes, step dancers, 600 flying beach balls and an entertainer who goes by the name of Duck Tape at Beverly’s annual New Year celebration Friday, Dec. 31.

Performances and entertainment start at 3 p.m. at multiple locations on Cabot Street, culminating in the Grand Procession at 6 p.m. and the Kids’ Countdown and Beach Ball Toss at 7 p.m.
The New Year’s entertainment also includes returning favorites Bob Kramer and his band of Briscoe students, Tony Toledo, magician Peter Jackson and the Irish Step Dancers. New this year are Rainforest Reptiles, the North of Boston Arts Center performers and Duck Tape. Horse-drawn hayrides will be back.

Buttons cost $5 each and are required for admission to the indoor performances. All outdoor activities on Cabot Street are free, with the exception of the hayrides, which are free with a button and $2 otherwise. Admission is free for children younger than 4 at all events. Until Dec. 30, buttons are “Buy 3, Get 1 Free” at Casa de Moda, the Sterling Center YMCA and the Cabot Street branches of Beverly Cooperative Bank and Danversbank. They will also be available at full price at the event.
