Family Fun for North Shore Families

Beverly Homecoming was first celebrated in 1966, making 2012 the 47th annual celebration. The week is just around the corner, and the Homecoming Committee is expecting record crowds. Planning for the 2012 week-long event began just as last year's fireworks went off, and more fun is planned.

Beverly Homecoming will take place July 27, 2012 – August 5, 2012. The Lobster Festival, one of Homecoming’s highlights, will take place on Wednesday, August 1st at Lynch Park.

Our Story Hour experiences are tied closely to the school's mission. Teachers strive to educate the whole child - head, heart, and hands - to develop each child's gifts to their fullest potential. Children learn in a natural, experiential, and age-appropriate manner so that learning is meaningful, satisfying, and joyful.

Long Hill invites children to come pick their own flower bouquet in their garden

Organic and local - right here at Long Hill! Zinnias, snapdragons, rudbeckia, sunflowers, dahlias, and more bouquet-worthy flowers. Flower bouquets are priced at $7 for a large size, $3 for a child size. Please visit the garden anytime, but pick-your-own is only available at the hours stated. Learn sustainable gardening techniques in this educational, kid-friendly garden.

Join Bright Horizons at Beverly Cummings Center in their new Art Studio as Art Teacher, Miss Jennifer, leads your child in creating their very own piece of abstract art inspired by artist Jackson Pollock. This hands-on activity offers children experience with color blending, creative process and expression and a lesson in art history.  Using a “blow painting” technique, children will blow water color paint onto canvas through straws to create their very own unique piece of abstract art.

Picking vegetables is just one of the activities kids will enjoy at Long Hill Ga

Bring your preschooler and join us for work and play in the Children's Garden at Long Hill. We'll discover friendly insects, harvest veggies, read stories and do an activity. The program meets in the Children's Garden. If it's raining, we meet in the yellow farmhouse. This is a drop-in program, but please sign in when you arrive.

Cape Ann Waldorf School Spring Concert

All are warmly welcome to attend the Cape Ann Waldorf School Spring Concert in the Great Hall of the school. The evening will feature a performance of the CAWS Middle School Orchestra and solo and duet performances by the Eighth Graders. This will be a great performance with music by Vivaldi, music from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, a ‘Rhumba’, a contemporary piece entitled ‘Rondo at the Station’, and the music from ‘Mission Impossible’.  It will be a joyous evening of music not to be missed.

Shore Country Day School celebrated its 75th Anniversary and Head of School, Lawrence A. Griffin’s, 25th year with a Gala celebration on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Over 630 of the school’s current and past parents, faculty and staff, and alumni gathered for a surprise honoring of Griffin, of Hamilton, who has lead the institution for one third of its existence.
