Crunchy Granola Baby - This Shop Has Closed will feature the art work of Nancy Lorcalon now through September. Nancy is a North Shore artist who came to Boston in the 1990s for her Master's Degree, and stayed because she loves New England. She's taught all kinds of arts all over eastern Massachusetts, to all ages of people. Two years ago, she moved to live year round on the North Shore. And loves that even more.
Nancy's years in professional and educational theater, including design, give her an eye for good scenes and special moments. Some of the pieces shown here start with Nancy's photos printed on fabric. Some start with her hand dyed fabric. All use whatever media she's inspired to use to create the whole piece, multimedia creations. You can see quilting techniques throughout the works. Nancy's quilt work is in private collections from Washington state to Chicago to Boston, also as far away as Japan. She started quilting in sixth grade, but it's really one of her aunts who brought her to art quilting as an adult. Nancy's artwork will be featured and for sale August through September at Crunchy Granola Baby - This Shop Has Closed.
