Children's Garden Opening Day at Long Hill

Kids can help plant flowers and vegetables at Long Hill in Beverly MA.

The Trustees of Reservations invites kids and their families to opening day of the Children's Garden at Long Hill and Sedgwick Gardens in Beverly! Kids will help plant colorful, annual flowers and organic vegetables in our magical Children's Garden. Plant one or as many as you can! You will be beautifying the garden for the season while learning how to plant. Great for families. Limited spaces available. Please pre-register.

IRWS host a watercolor workshop with Brenda Sloane

Join watercolorist Brenda Sloane in a monthly program that combines nature and art. We will start with a walk on the sanctuary to observe the topic of the month. We will then return to the Nature Center to create a follow-up work of art.

Coast of Hope Walk at The Crane Estate

The Coast of Hope Walk raises funds for your favorite charity at the Crane Estat

The The Trustees of Reservations are hosting the Coast of Hope Walk at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate! Hike, walk or run the varied terrain of the Crane Estate, Cedar Point and Steep Hill Beach while raising funds for your favorite charity! There is also a 2k paved route option. Registration fees go to support Bright Happy Power - a non-profit based in Ipswich that brings empowerment and happiness to children facing cancer!

Kids Flower Ramble at Maudslay State Park

Rhododendron's are plentiful at Maudslay State Park in Newburyport!

Flowers are for kids, too! Children ages 6 – 10 can accompany their parents and the park interpreter to learn about the fabulous flowers at Maudslay, one of the premier viewing locations in Massachusetts. Meet at the park headquarters on Curzon Mill Rd. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Children must be accompanied by an adult!

Walk through history at Ravenswood Park! Ravenswood has changed from a main thoroughfare to a forgotten backwoods, and now to our favorite local refuge over time. See the evidence in cellar holes, stonewalls, and carriage paths. Learn the stories of a colorful cast of characters who transformed it into a such special place. Pre-registration requested.

The The Trustees of Reservations invite you to celebrate Spring with family and friends at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate in Ipswich. During this FREE day of events and activities you can take a self-guided tour of the Great House, enjoy lawn games along the rolling Grand Allée, go on a family-friendly treasure hunt, join a may-pole dance, find out what SummerQuest camp is all about, and get the low down on becoming a Trustees volunteer! People are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch!

Read about fairy houses, then head out to make your own at the IRWS!

What would happen if you built a house for fairies? Chances are high that you would see nature's visitors first. After reading Fairy Houses (The Fairy Houses Series) by Tracy Kane, participants will venture out on the sanctuary to create our own homes using natural nonliving materials.

Hikin' Kids

Hikin' Kids is designed to acclimate kids to the forest environment!

This program is for pre-K level. This is a basic introduction to the forest and a short hike to acclimate children to the outdoors. Recommend bringing water, insect repellent, sun screen, binoculars and camera.
