Maritime Gloucester invites you to join maritime archaeologists for a tour of the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary's historic shipwrecks to uncover the mysteries and secrets hidden beneath the waves. The event will include a showing of the 45-minute Science Channel's Viewers Choice Award documentary The Wreck of the Portland, followed by a tour of the Sanctuary's exhibit in the Maritime Gloucester.

Sailing aboard the Schooner Thomas Lannon is an unforgettable experience

Help Captain Tom Ellis and his crew raise the sails or just relax and enjoy the views of castles, lighthouses, and the working waterfront. Let your imagination take you back 100 years when Gloucester's harbor was full of working Schooners.

Rowley's Annual Antique Tractor Contest

Come to the Rowley Town Common to enjoy a celebration of farms and farming.  In addition to the Rowley Farmer's Market , more than 30 working antique working tractors will be on display for judging.  Enjoy a live music performance at the common's Gazebo by the Then Again Band from 10 am - noon. Come check out the tractors, buy some great fresh produce, learn some Rowley History, have some BBQ and finish it off with some sweets!

The Marblehead model Yacht Club will demonstrate Model yachting on Pleasant Pond

Join members of theWenham Museum education staff and the Marblehead Model Yacht Club in learning how to sail model ships on Pleasant Pond in Wenham. Try your hand at this 100 year old summer past time. If you enjoy these models, visit the museum’s miniature world of trains and dollhouses with special museum admission pricing for Trails and Sails participants.

The Powow River Blessing is not just a ceremony, it's a festival!

The annual Powow River sunset blessing, is a long tradition to offer positive intentions and blessings to the Powow River. Families who attend the autumn equinox event find many interesting activities. Children can create a craft project, walk the labyrinth, view a vintage river post card exhibit, and enjoy refreshments from Cider Hill Farm.

Enjoy one stunning view after the next as we explore the Crane Wildlife Refuge, an island studded patchwork of salt marsh and tidal creeks located in Essex Bay. During this guided tour, participants will traverse a series of island treasures, walking a spectacular network of carriageways and footpaths, linking cobbled beaches and grassy fields with forested hillsides and historic buildings.

LongYear Museum is participating in the Essex National Heritage Commission’s tenth annual Trails and Sails, with events at the Mary Baker Eddy Historic House - Amesbury in Amesbury and Swampscott, Massachusetts. Activities at these two historic houses will be among the 100 free offerings throughout Essex County.
