From 1884 – 1917, Mason A. Walton lived a hermit's life in Ravenswood Park. He closely observed, wrote, and drew about wildlife behaviors and published a book in 1903. As we walk in his footsteps to the site of his cabin, we'll track signs of wildlife just as Walton did. Along the way we'll share tales from his book A Hermit's Wild Friends, available from Amazon:

Take a FREE guided tour of "Ansel Adams, At the Water's Edge" at the Peabody Essex Museum . Ansel Adams' appreciation for water was never far from the surface. He was drawn to the subject in all its forms, from rain, fog, mist and clouds to ice and snow. He also photographed water's effects in tide pools, weathered buildings and erosion patterns.
What creatures live in Salem Harbor? Find out at this Trails and Sails beach seining demonstration at Waikiki Beach at Winter Island Maritime Park! Salem Sound Coastwatch staff and volunteers will walk a large seining net into the water and then drag it back to shore. We'll lay it out, gather around to examine the catch and talk about what we find.

Green Meadows Farm operates a CSA and runs a farm stand open to the public. In the Farmstand, you'll find our own seasonal vegetables plus a variety of natural and organic dry goods, local cheeses, milk, meat and fun gift items for children and adults.
War of 1812 Day at Salem Maritime National Historic Site! Salem Maritime will be celebrating the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 with living history programming throughout the day. Meet some of Salem's 19th century citizens, and hear their views on this controversial war. Family activities and Junior Ranger programs will be offered all day.
The Beverly Historical Society invites you to listen to tales of some very strange characters as you explore one of Beverly's oldest houses. Take a guided tour by candlelight of Hale Farm, established in Beverly in 1694, and hear stories of the folks that lived in the area and the farm's connection to the witch hysteria of Salem. Built for the Rev. John Hale, the first minister of Beverly, the house reflects life in Beverly over more than 200 years.
Lynn's annual art festival moves to the waterfront this year and will feature live music, art activities for kids, arts & craft vendors and a waterfront film. Family friendly, something for everyone. Bring a blanket to picnic at the park and enjoy the day and the live music!
