Take a step back in time and enjoy a spring day on the farm. Enjoy traditional New England music, sheep-shearing, and wagon rides and cheer on your favorite teams of the Essex Base Ball Association as they play using 1860s rules. At these fun, historically accurate games, players pitch underhand, a ball bounced once and caught is an out, and no gloves are allowed.
Join the Essex Base Ball Organization on October 13, 2018, as members of the vintage base ball community will be participating in the 5th annual Jan’s Pitch for Breast Cancer and the Arts, to raise money for cancer research and to fund art education in inner city schools in Lawrence, MA. Three games will take place at the beautiful Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm, featuring teams from all over New England and beyond.
Hamilton Wenham Youth Soccer is excited to begin providing referee training for our league. The 5-week Town Referee Training program will prepare participants for refereeing intramural games and to be an Assistant Referee in town travel games. Additionally, it will prepare participants for official USSF referee certification. This is a helpful but non-mandatory step to achieving USSF certification for 13 or 14 years olds interested in getting an early start as a referee & provide a new perspective on the game if they are players already.

Many local businesses, organizations and non-profits take part in our Family Day fun offering free crafts, games, activities and handouts. USA Hockey and Cape Ann Youth Hockey invite kids ages 4-9 to come try hockey for free in Gloucester! If your child has shown interest in learning to skate, or just a genereal interest in team sports, hockey coudl be for them! Come to The Dorothy Talbot Rink to come try youth hockey as part of Come Play Hockey Month. Limited equipment will be available for use.
