Have you ever been to a model rocket launch?  There's plenty to learn and a lot to watch!  CMASS will hold a Model Rocket Launch at Woodsom Farm Park in Amesbury, MA. The public are welcome. What do whales, dolphins, sea lions, seals, walruses and manatees have in common?  They all have flippers! Join us for free-flow learning at Joppa Flats that is fun for the whole family. There's simple science fun with coloring pages, crafts, and toys for ages 2 to 6; science experiments and group challenges for ages 7 and up; and outdoor exploration, seasonal live animals, and scheduled family presentations for everyone. Fly by for an hour or stay all day for family time that suits your schedule. There's something different to see and do with every visit!

Each after school program session at Joppa Flats Education Center begins with self-guided activities, challenges, or puzzles that lead us to our topic for the day. As a group, we'll observe, investigate, and compare wildlife, their adaptations, and the changes that they undergo in autumn. Participants may play the role of entomologist, ornithologist, astronomer, or even glaciologist throughout this series. Each experience will leave your young naturalist eager for the next session. And we always end with a tasty, thematic treat that the participants make! 

Get a jump start on your weekend with the Second Friday Program at the MIT Museum!  Second Friday Programs are FREE and are oriented for open exploration with opportunities to attend performances, demonstrations, and lectures through out the museum galleries.

Whether you're running or spectating at the Boston Marathon this year, a visit to Museum of Science will teach you the latest in endurance sports science! In the days leading up to the Marathon the museum has created special exibits and hands-on activities that will allow visitors to explore the science behind long-distance endurance running.  Combined with presentations by special guests, visitors will gain a better understanding the forces experienced by the runner's body, and what training does to minimize their effects.

This parent/child program is designed for the creative, curious, and active preschooler. Each 90-minute session offers a structured series of activities including original songs, movement, dramatic play, hands-on science, and a thematic snack. In the third annual Free Film Fridays, visitors can experience the giant dome magic -- for free -- every Friday throughout the month: March 2 -30. Swim alongside some of the Earth's most graceful creatures in Dolphins, go on a heart-pounding science adventure exploring the evolution of tornadoes in Tornado Alley, or journey with more than 1.5 million animals over 500 miles across the Serengeti plains in Africa: The Serengeti.
