Greyhounds at the library! Rescue organization Greyhound Friends will be coming to the Newburyport Public Library, and they are bringing four greyhounds for us to meet! Learn about the greyhound breed, the history of greyhound racing, and what it's like to adopt a former racing greyhound. Of course, everyone will get to pet and interact with the greyhounds, so bring your cameras! All ages are welcome: kids, teens and adults.

Join Gloucester Mayor Carolyn Kirk as she reads aloud 'Skippy Finds Adventure' aboard Schooner Adventure! This new children's book is about Skippy, a dog who found his home aboard the Adventure for 16 years.  Meet the creators of the book, and explore the vessel that Skippy called home!

Come on down to the Essex Shipbuilding Museum and join us for Salty Dog Day where we celebrate the long history of dogs in the maritime trades with fun! This family event is a wonderful opportunity to wander around the Museum and have fun with your family and pets! Salty Dog Day features water rescue demonstrations, an agility course, a costume parade, vendors, hot dogs and more!

The North Shore Pet Fair is a chance for local exhibitors and pet venders to hold a fair at the Salem Common while local pet enthusiasts showcase their dogs in a variety of competitions.  This is a great opportunity to show off the family pet, or to introduce your child to the world of pet ownership! The McCarthy-Trifone Recreation Committee is sponsoring a Spring Carnival Fundraiser from Wednesday, March 21st through Sunday, April 15th.The carnival fundraiser will feature rides, games and food. Featured rides this year include the Vertigo, Freakout and the Zipper along with many more exciting carnival rides. In addition, there will be a petting zoo daily and magic shows Wednesday – Sunday.

Come enjoy a family afternoon with DJ music, cookout, chicken bingo with $100 cash prize, and silent auction. Visit with our dogs in training and our resident donkey “Mary” - don’t forget your hat! All proceeds help Service Dog and their efforts to donate Balance and Mobility dogs for those in need.
