The Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras presents their Afternoon of Spring Concerts on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the Dolan Performing Arts Center, 130 High Street, in Ipswich, MA. There will be two performances; a concert at 2pm and a second concert at 4pm. The concerts are free to the general public; no tickets required.
The Dineh Tah’ Navajo Dancers are visiting Manchester from the Navajo Nation for the 155th commemoration of the Navajo Treaty. The agreement was signed by two Indian Peace Commissioners, Colonel Samuel F. Tappan of Manchester, (1831-1913) and General William Tecumseh Sherman (1820-1891). The Dancers will be acknowledging the life and legacy of Colonel Tappan and the key role he played in negotiating the 1868 Navajo Treaty.

In the 200th anniversary of Boston’s incorporation as a city, BCC singers celebrate our city’s history of civil rights activism and draw attention to the work still ahead of us. While exploring an inequitable past and the generational impact of these injustices on the Boston we live in today, BCC singers celebrate our 20th anniversary by recommitting to our core mission—inspiring inquiry, cultivating empathy, and becoming the future generation of Boston leaders.

Internationally acclaimed artist Li Liu will dazzle us with Chinese acrobatics including plate spinning, hand balancing, ribbon twirling, and more! Families of all ages are invited to experience this amazing performance that will take place at the Hamilton-Wenham Recreation Dept. Gymnasium, adjacent to the library.

Drawing heavily from fairytales that kids will already be familiar with, Debbie presents enough lyrical updates to keep these stories fresh, and to keep everybody tuned in and laughing, including the parents!
