It has been many years since Cape Ann operated an active Sea Scout group for youth, and Maritime Gloucester is proud to announce that it is starting a new Sea Scout “Ship” effective immediately.The program is a national co-ed outdoor program for young adults ages 14 to 20 that promotes knowledge of our nation’s maritime heritage and provides young people with positive opportunities through hands-on maritime education, training and experiences.

Family Martial Arts and More brings kids ages 7-10 a summer filled with safe, fun activities!

Kids will enjoy a variety of activities designed to develop their athletic skills and will learn the fundamentals of sports and competition. Indoor games will be provided during rainy days and bottled water, and morning and afternoon snacks are provided.

The The Trustees of Reservations invite you to celebrate Spring with family and friends at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate in Ipswich. During this FREE day of events and activities you can take a self-guided tour of the Great House, enjoy lawn games along the rolling Grand Allée, go on a family-friendly treasure hunt, join a may-pole dance, find out what SummerQuest camp is all about, and get the low down on becoming a Trustees volunteer! People are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch!

Pettengill Farm is hosting an Earth Day celebration in conjunction with their annual Spring open house with FREE eco activities! Bring the family for fun earth day activities like a scavenger hunt in the woods and fun with eco-activities, face painting and loads of fun. Come meet the farm's newest & cutest animals. Come to  Spencer Peirce Little Farm for a mid-winter open house to celebrate the official purchase of the town of Newbury on January 13, 1701. As part of this community-wide event, tour the Spencer-Pierce-Little House, enjoy hot cider and donuts for sale in the visitor center, and then walk to the nearby town-sponsored bonfire in the growing fields of Tendercrop Farm!

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a free open house on Monday, January 21, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The day of family-friendly presentations will include an original spoken word and musical performance commemorating the 50th anniversary of Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech, a tribute to Dr. King by Berklee College of Music Professor Lawrence Watson, and art-making activities related to the themes of equality, peace, community, and reflections.  

In addition, the Museum will air the live broadcast of the 57th Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama.

Join Bright Horizons at Beverly Cummings Center for winter fun on the NEW playground. Frosty will join the kids in Art Studio for art projects and Movement Matters Zone and will join the children for breakfast and photos.
