This club is for grades 3-6 and meets every second Friday of the month from 3:45-4:45. Join Miss Audrey for some hands on science fun!
Join us on the front lawn of the library for the cosmic event of the year! We will have a good view of an almost complete eclipse so long as the weather cooperates. We have a limited number of eclipse glasses that will be handed out during the event, 1 per person on a 1st come 1st served bases starting at 3PM. We will stream the full totality eclipse inside on the big screen. Come enjoy a celestial themed snack.
The Amesbury Public Library invites kids to come read to a dog at the Library! Gus, a mixed lab and certified reading partner dog, would love to hear you read aloud! This is a great way to practice some early reading skills or give some confidence to reluctant readers. If you have a child who is reading themselves or working on their reading skills, sign up for a 15 minute slot! Gus will be back in the Library every two weeks so you can register for more than one session if you'd like or just for one!
Are you a fan of... Board games? Dungeons and Dragons? Magic the Gathering? Then the Tabletop Club is for you! Once a month we set up a space for you to get your game on!
Come play in a Dungeons and Dragons ongoing campaign! You'll create your own characters and build the story session to session. Come if you're a beginner or if you know the rules. All are welcome! Registration is required and is for all 7 weeks. The sessions take place every other Wednesday for 2 hours.
Come to the library for an evening of coastal creations. Bring your own sea glass to make sea glass art. Picture frames, shells, and some crushed glass will be provided as well as step-by-step instructions to create designs that will keep the beach in your heart and your home. Registration required.
Vacation week free fun for families! Cape Ann Symphony, along with the Sawyer Free Library, presents Katy and the Big Snow. Enjoy the beloved story by Gloucester's own Virginia Lee Burton read aloud by local actress Heidi Dallin, and set to music for this ensemble performance. Musicians will also introduce children to the various instruments in a mini show and tell. This special show for children and families will be held at Trinity Church, 70 Middle Street. Open to all, no registration needed. Approximate 40 minute program.
Embark on a grand adventure with Dungeons & Dragons at the Sawyer Free Library! Create your character and venture on an epic quest with Dungeon Master Ephraim Weaver. All experience levels are welcome. Free pizza lunch will be provided. Space is limited. 5th-12th grade.
Sawyer Free Library has a fun filled Spring Egg Decorating craft session planned. Kids can decorate craft eggs here at the library to take home! We will paint, color, & decorate faux eggs (materials will be provided.) Registration is required. Register each child individually.
