Friday Night Movie Night!

Kids will enjoy 'Brave' at the Manchester Athletic Club this Friday!

This week's movie FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE NIGHT at Manchester Athletic Club will feature Brave (). Drop off the kids (ages 3 - 13 years old) for a night at the movies with pizza and juice served for dinner. Go enjoy some free time while the kids have a blast together, and pick them up tired and ready for a good night's sleep!

Salem Arts Festival

Downtown Salem comes alive with art for the fifth annual Salem Arts Festival

For three days, this annual family friendly art festival transforms downtown Salem into an opportunity for the arts community to showcase their talents. Now in its fifth year, the festival celebrates all the arts: painting, photography, sculpture, dance, music, writing, film, new media, performance, theater, poetry, culinary, etc. in a free city-wide arts festival. Programs for all ages!

Kid's Night Out (KNO) is back at the YWCA Greater Newburyport.

Kid's Night Out (KNO) is back at the YWCA Greater Newburyport.  Parents, relax and enjoy a well deserved night out (or in) while our highly qualified YWCA staff watch over your little munchkins (children in grades 1-3).  Their evewning at the YWCA Greater Newburyport starts with pizza, music, and activities.  Then it is on to the pool for an open swim and the evening ends with a short video.

Cape Ann Farmers' Market Fundraiser

The Annual Cape Ann Farmers Market fundraiser will be held April 28, 2013

The Cape Ann Farmers' Market will be holding their annual fundraiser this year at the Cape Ann Community Cinema! Join then for a dinner and movie at the cinema featuring the film 'Betting the Farm'.  Following the movie, a community discussion will follow featuring the CEO MOO Milk - Maine's Organic Milk Coop. This year's meal will consist of soup, cheese and bread - with locally produced beer and wine. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Cape Ann Farmers Market.

The EarthPort Film Festival raises awareness of our rapidly changing climate.

The Firehouse Center for the Arts invites you to the 2013 Earth Port Festival - a day of environmental short films to help celebrate Earth Day in Newburyport! Inspired by a desire to highlight and raise awareness of both pressing environmental issues and the important role of community media, PortMedia and Transition Newburyport have partnered host this year's EarthPort Film Festival. Proceeds from the Festival will be used to support the work of PortMedia.

We'll present pioneering artists, electrifying performances, provocative ideas and creative family-friendly experiences. Inspired by the modern and contemporary Indian art in Midnight to the Boom, explore today's India through dance, food, musical performances, visual art and storytelling.

Learn about spotted salamanders and vernal creatures from the Cape Ann Vernal Po

Be prepared for peeper season this Spring! Learn about the temporary habitat of vernal ponds, what lives in them, why they are home to specialized woodland creatures and how to protect them. Live creatures will be displayed during the discussion, followed by an excursion into the park. Presented by Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team at Ravenswood Park! Space is limited, so please pre-register!

Peabody Celebrates wool and the things we make from it in a weekend festival!

Peabody Essex Museum celebrates the world of wool and the products that are created from this raw material in a weekend-long festival! There have been many uses for wool throughout history and across cultures dating back as far as 6000 B.C.E. Wool is made from the hair or fleece of certain animals such as sheep, goats, llamas - and even rabbits! Come explore where wool comes from as part of PEM's ongoing Art Materials and Creative Experience program.

Big Bird's Adventure: One World, One Sky

Big Bird and Elmo introduce kids to the stars at the Museum of Scinece Boston!

The Museum of Science hosts a special planetarium presentation geared to engage kids ages 6 and under in the world of Astronomy! Elmo and Big Bird team up to introduce young children to the start in Big Bird's Adventure: One World, One Sky at the Hayden Planetarium in Boston! Follow along with Big Bird, Elmo, and their friend from China, Hu Hu Zhu, as they take you on a journey of discovery to learn about the Big Dipper, the North Star, the Sun, and the Moon.
