Celebrate the Harvest Season with a traditional open air market day! Local farmers, craft vendors, entertainment and food choices are all available to enjoy the change of the seasons and the bountiful harvest that we are blessed with this year. The Village Marketplace will be decorated for the crisp season with flowers, pumpkins and cornstalks. This autumnal street fair will be at 300 Main St. Wenham and adjacent Railroad Avenue in Hamilton.
Visit Lowell’s Boat Shop, the birthplace of the legendary fishing Dory as part of the TRAILS & SAILS two weekend event. Founded by Simeon Lowell in 1793, the boat shop designed and produced some of the finest small fishing vessels used by American mariners. The shop is a "working museum" where visitors can see boats under construction.
Essex National Heritage Area sites will offer nearly 200 free family fun events over the weekends of September 16-18 and September 23-25 for the 10th anniversary celebration of TRAILS & SAILS. Participants can hike, bike, paddle, stroll or sail through the region and Essex National Heritage Area will provide a passport to FREE fun and adventure.
Come to the Orchard and meet Johnny Appleseed! Yes, he will be telling his story and spreading apple seeds! (We think he will even pose for a picture or two!) In addition to meeting Johnny Appleseed, all things apple will be in our Farm Stand and be sure to look for the “hidden apples” around the orchard and farm which will carry special coupons! Pick your own apples to take home!
