Come see how baseball used to be played (circa 1860s) at Spencer Pierce Farm

It’s Base Ball, 1861 style at Spencer Peirce Little Farm! Teams playing today are The Newburyport Clamdiggers, Lynn Live Oaks, and Lowell Base Ball Club. These fun, historically accurate games feature underhand pitching and no gloves are allowed. A ball bounced once and caught is an out! Snacks, baseballs, and cards are available for purchase. Come and see for yourself how this game was played in the 1860's!

Antique & Classic Car Show

Come see classic and antique cars at Smolak Farms!

Smolak Farms is hosting a classic and Antique Car Show right on the Farm!  Classic and Antique Cars will be on display, plus there will be lots of fun family activities that include hayrides, pick your own fruit, live music, baked goods, FREE arts and craft activities for kids, an animal area, a playground, bouncy houses and duck races!

Dairy Discovery at Appleton Farms

Kids work hand in hand with our dairy farmers at Appleton Farms in Ipswich, MA.

Work hand in hand with our dairy farmers to learn how our herd of Jersey cows turn grass and hay into delicious farm-fresh milk. Through hands-on activities kids will learn how milk is made into other dairy products such as cheese, butter, and ice cream. Ages 7–12.

The Flower Project

Appleton Farms is looking for teen volunteers to help with the Flower Project.

Appleton Farms needs volunteers for their Flower Project service learning program that engages youth in the planning, growing, cutting and arranging of flowers. The program culminates as participants deliver their arrangements weekly to area nursing homes and hospice patients. The program meets weekly in July and August.  We encourage teens to sign-up for the whole summer season.

At 12pm Lowell Baseball Nine will take on the Lynn Live Oaks and then at 2pm the Newburyport Clamdiggers will challenge the Ipswich Brewers. These fun, historically accurate games feature underhand pitching and no gloves are allowed. A ball bounced once and caught is an out! Snacks, baseballs, and cards are available for purchase. Bees are in trouble and humans can help. Within the past few years, a syndrome has been destroying bee colonies world-wide in a cycle referred to as Colony Collapse Disorder. In 'Queen of the Sun', director Taggart Siegel explores the world of bees and looks for answers to the sudden crisis that is threatening bee populations around the planet. Come to this screening at the Cape Ann Waldorf School on the The Trustees of Reservations Moraine Farm to learn more about the bees' plight and Moraine Farm's plan to make a difference for the bees.

Winter Fiddleheads

The Winter Fiddlehead program at Appleton Farms encourages kids 3-5 to explore

Come watch winter melt into spring at Appleton Farms with your pre-schooler. Meet the cows, plant seeds, explore the winter wonderland, and learn about spring changes. Fiddleheads experience it all through age appropriate sensory activities, stories, songs and games. A healthy snack is provided. Please pre-register. Program meets four Thursdays, March 1, 8, 15, 22.
