Peabody Essex Museum invites kids and families for days of fun and engaging events and activities during February vacation week! With a focus on the XYZT: A Journey in 4 Dimensions exhibit, participants will interact with digitial environements inspired by nature. Essex National Heritage Area sites offer over 150 free family fun events over two weekends each September for the annual celebration of TRAILS & SAILS. Participants can hike, bike, paddle, stroll or sail through the region and Essex National Heritage Area will provide a passport to fun and adventure. Maritime Gloucester hosts a Marine Halloween where kids will learn while having some Halloween fun! Discover the spooky side of Gloucester’s marine life! During this family-friendly educational program, we’ll be offering monstrous art projects and a chance to meet some live local sea creatures. Learn about scary deep sea creatures and the giant marine life of the distant past as we create a Sea Monster Chalk Mural.
Maritime Gloucester kicks off Shark Week with a great experiential learning craft that's as fun as it is educational! Visitors of all ages are invited to participate in the Shark Week Chalkquarium! Drop by for this free event to draw a "Great White Chalk" and other life-sized sharks and rays on the pavement around Maritime Gloucester! All of our regularly-scheduled drop-in programs will also be shark-themed until August 10.
