Gloucester Education Foundation Plant Sale

Generous Gardeners is having a plant sale to benefit the GEF!

Here's a plant sale that will beautify your garden, help reduce your carbon footprint and benefit a local community organization that's dedicated to helping children! Come to Stage Fort Park to shop for perennials supplied by your neighbors to help fund programs through the Gloucester Education Foundation! This sale is organized by Generous Gardeners Inc.  a unique North Shore Business that  promotes philanthropy through gardening – check them out to swap or donate plants online!

Manga Workshop at Ipswich Library

kids 12 and up can learn about drawing, story telling and creating comics.

Ipswich Public Library is hosting a Manga Workshop with Andy & Veronica Fish. Manga is a form of Japanese story telling created in the late 18th century, that has transformed into a style of comic art. Learn about Comics, draw characters, learn about story-telling or how to make your own! Event is free and open to teens ages 12 and up. Reservation required. 'Birders' Film benefit for Kestrel Adventures

The Cape Ann Community Cinemawill be hosting a showing of the film 'Birders: the Central Park Effect' to benefit Kestrel Educational Aventures! 'Birders is a film that celebrates the diversity of birds that live in and migrate through New York's Central Park and the New Yorkers who make birding in Central Park part of their lives. Come see this fascinating film and help raise funds for a unique local organization at the same time!

Cambridge Science Festival 2013

NOTE: Due to the events of the massive manhunt in the Cambridge Area and shooting of an MIT police office over the past few days, all events and activities for the Cambridge Science Festival have bee postponed for Friday April, 19 and Saturday April 20, 2013!

The Cambridge Science Festival is the first of its kind in the United States. It is a fun and enagaging celebration showcasing  the leading edge in science, technology, engineering, and math in our region. The Cambridge Science Festival makes science accessible, interactive and fun with hundreds of events taking place in and around Cambridge, MA each spring.  For ten days, Cambridge will come alive with science and offer exhibits, activities, fairs, demonstrations, lectures, debates, concerts, plays, workshops and all kinds of interactive events for kids, families and curious individuals!

MIT Spark Program for Teens & Tweens

MIT's Spark offers courses to kids in grades 7-12 with a huge selection!

MIT Spark is a one day event on the MIT Campus where kids in grades 7-12 are invited to take part in classes taught by MIT students and other community members. They can select from a wide range of courses that range from Origami to Theoretical Spacecraft Propulsion to Magic to the Stagecraft of Dueling and everything in between!

Wingmasters at Ipswich Library

Wingmasters demonstrate live birds of prey of various specious in Massachusetts

Come enjoy Native American artifacts and birds of prey with Jim Parks of Wingmasters! This program combines four live birds of prey with authentic artifacts, many of museum quality, and both demonstrate how different Native American cultures transformed natural materials into objects of beauty and drama.

The NEF Auction raises funds to enhance public education in Newburyport!

Join the Newburyport Education Foundation for their Lighthouse Auction to raise funds that will go to enhance the quality of public education in the Newburyport School District. Bidding through the online auction has been going strong since October 26, but the live and silent auction is a chance to gather with neighbors and friends to enjoy a night of fundraising that will benefit the whole community!
