Celebrate local author, illustrator and artist Virginia Lee Burton with story time, playing and art making in the Children's Activity Center. Burton authored and illustrated some of the most memorable books ever written for children, and won the 1942 Caldecott Medal for The Little House (Sandpiper Books) .

Does someone in your family have an eReader? Do want to start getting free eBooks from the library? Join us for this workshop - you will learn how to setup your eReader to download and read free eBooks from the Library's Overdrive website. Children are welcome to attend with a parent. Bring your eReader device so that we can answer your questions.

SalemRecycles is hosting their semi-annual book swap. If you have items to drop off, you may do so on Saturday when you arrive or the Friday before between 6-7 pm. You are not required to bring books in order to take books.

The Newburyport Public Library invites teens in grades 6 through 12 to join us for “The Hunger Games” Movie Release Party in the Program Room. We will have Hunger Games and Catching Fire trivia, a survival skills challenge, and a dress-your-tribute-in-duct-tape-fashion challenge. A cornucopia of snacks will be provided.
