The tail end of the Mid Winter recess finds north shore children and families with a lot of options for the weekend. Families can choose from some cool nature programs, kid’s theater, music and puppet shows plus great goings on in the museums.
Presidents Day Weekend is finally upon us and there's tons to do north of Boston. The weather is going to be perfect to get out and enjoy these fabulous family events and activities.
The weather is just ideal for all the fabulous children and family events and activities taking place on Boston's north shore this weekend beginning with the not to be missed The Merrimack River Eagle Festival - Canceled. Spend the entire day or check the schedule and attend just one or two free events. You can even have a photograph made with a live Raptor!

There are loads of events going on all over the north shore this weekend.
At 5pm Friday, get over to the Essex Elementary School for Messy Art Night. The north shore has such a vibrant art community and this is a good way to introduce kids to many local artists.
It's here! The second annual You do not have access to view this node! With all the snow we received, the conditions are perfect to watch this exciting winter sport up close. The dog sleds run as close as six feet away with snow flying everywhere. This year the race begins at one of my favorite north shore locations Appleton Farms. Public admission is free and you might even get a change to take a picture with one of the sled dog teams so bring a camera.
Snow is expected this weekend so be sure to check out the best of Sledding Hills and Slopes North of Boston. If ice skating is more your style, many ice skating rinks on the north shore have weekend open skate for families.
