Two beaches are located in Stage Fort Park - Cressy's Beach and Half Moon Beach . Half Moon is a sheltered sandy beach that is more like a lagoon. Cressy's Beach is a rocky, more natural beach.

Stage Fort Park has an information center open during the season, rest rooms and on the grounds, a privately owned restaurant open to the public. There is a playground. Visitors can bring grills for cookouts.

During the Summer, there are outdoor concerts and story telling. Check the Calendar of Events for details. Stage Fort Park is pet friendly! Dogs are allowed in the Park but not on the beaches from May 1st to September 15th. Owners must pick up after their dogs. Parking is $10 per car in season.

Official Opening of the Boston Common Frog Pond

Frog Pond Boston CommonThe Frog Pond at Boston Common is one of Boston’s most popular attractions, so it makes sense that they’d have an ice skating rink here in the winter months. Frigid New England temperatures make it possible for the rink to stay open from November through the middle of March each year and skating is available for at least 100 of those days, if not more.
The Frog Pond is located at Beacon & Walnut Street.

Mayor Thomas M. Menino hosts the official opening of the Boston Common Frog Pond 2009/2010 season with demonstrations by precision skating teams, pairs, and champion figure skaters. The Frog Pond features concessions, skate rentals, rest rooms, and a warming area. Please call (617) 635-2121 for advance sales of 20 people or more and special school programs or (617) 635-2120 for further information on the Frog Pond.
