PlumFest is a community-driven project to bring local musicians, island residents and visitors together to showcase the natural beauty and artistry that make Plum Island such a special place. As an early participant in the “porch-fest” movement that is gaining popularity nation-wide, PlumFest brings our own unique flavor to the mix, with an event that is sure to please.
Join your Ward 3 neighbors for a Friday evening picnic at the park! This laid-back get-together will be a fun way to meet new people, enjoy a beautiful park and get out of the house on a Friday evening. Bring your own picnic, blanket and lawn games. There will be an ice cream truck that stops by, too!
Join us for the Inaugural Sweetheart Dance at Town Hall on Saturday February 9th from 6 pm to 8 pm. Bring your sweetheart and dance the evening away! Pizza & light refreshments available. $5 per person; $25 limit for families. Open to all ages! Advance registration is required.
Join Newburyport Youth Services in building community through cocoa! Register today to host a stand in your neighborhood! Or plan to find one near your home! Check back for the updated maps! Young people thrive when they have a caring community - knowing your neighbors is a great place to start! Host a stand and give away hot chocolate all while getting to know your community members. Accept donations to your favorite charity (Friends of Newburyport Youth Services is a great organization!).
New parents (of babies 0-12 months old) and expectant parents are invited join to us for our first Community Baby Shower! Hear about local family resources, participate in an introductory baby story time, create a keepsake for your baby, and meet new families. We hope to see you there! This year, the Cape Ann Businesswomen's Luncheon is proud to host Keynote speaker Nancy Frates. Nancy's son Pete Frates was diagnosed with ALS in 2012. Since then they have worked together to bring public awareness to this terrible disease with the very successful Ice Bucket Challenge, where they have raised over $220 million for ALS research. Nancy is a very inspiring speaker and we warmly welcome her to Cape Ann.
