This hike will test our skills of observation! We’ll trek through the dunes and forest of the Crane Wildlife Refuge, keeping our eyes peeled for wonders in the wilderness; and for some things that don’t belong out in Nature as well. Each child will have the opportunity to make a notebook that can be used as a field guide to record what we see and hear on our hike. We’ll end our trek with hot chocolate and cookies.
Highlighting this selection of French symphonic miniatures is harpist Ina Zdorovetchi. She will be featured in Debussy's gorgeous Danse Sacrée e Profane and Ravel's sparkling Introduction and Allegro.
Joppa Flats Education Center host a great session about animal skull and teeth! Teeth can tell you all about an animal's diet, feeding behavior, and strategy for survival. Skulls can tell you if an animal was a canine or feline. We'll examine skulls and teeth and try to imagine the animals that owned them. Finally, we'll create "mystery-ivores" with their own activities and diets.

We had such a great reaction to last year's program "The Role of the Honeybee in Our Environment" that we decided to offer another bee based program. This time, gardening guru Andi Ross will present her new program, "To Bee or Not to Bee." Landscaping to attract pollinators and other beneficial insects as well as birds and butterflies is not only trendy, its critical to our own survival. This lecture will explore what plants will attract beneficial wildlife to your gardens with slides of glorious gardens filled with wildlife.
