Boston Inventgenuity Festival

The Inventgenuity Festival will be loaded with a tremendous range of activities

Boston’s third annual Inventgenuity Festival is presented by Beam Camp, a New Hampshire summer camp for the applied arts, technology and collaboration. The weekend Festival will be loaded with a tremendous range of activities led by Beam’s staff of artists, engineers and big thinkers. The Inventgenuity Festival has become a popular annual winter celebration of making things for kids ages 7-14 and their parents.

Valentine Gift Making Craft

Kids are invited to the Manchester Public Library for a Valentine craft session

Make some valentine cards, a collage, and more as we use art materials to create festive February fun on the half day, February 6, 1 PM! Groundhog Day Extravaganza

Take a closer look at Groundhog Day with the naturalists at Ipswich River Sanctu

Is spring on the way, or are we faced with another six weeks of winter? According to legend, Punxsutawney Phil foretells the impending weather each year. If he sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. If not, spring is near. Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary celebrates this ritual with a fun afternoon of activities for kids and families!

NYS Girls Night Out

Girls night out is a chance for Middle School Aged girls to bond with friends.

Newburyport Youth Services invites middle school aged girls to come celebrate their friendships, explore new activities and speak their minds in a 'girl's only' atmosphere.  These evenings are designed to encourage healthy friendships, self respect and empowerment. Each year we bring in several special guests to introduce participants to new activities. Activities range from making music videos to self-defense, cooking to obstacle courses and more!

Baba Yaga & Vasilisa the Beautiful Puppet Show

Sawyer Free Library hosts a puppet show that tells the story of Baba Yaga and Vasilisa the beautiful. The story is an old russian folk tale of a young woman named Vasilisa who uses a magic doll to weather the trials posed upon her by a witch named Baba Yasa who lives deep in the woods.  Your kids will love this wonderful fairy tale, told by 'Round the World Puppets that's full of fantasy and fun!

One Direction fans are invited to the Newburyport Public Library for a party!

Teens and Tweens: Do you love One Direction? Come show your support for the band and meet fellow fans at our One Direction party! Listen to music, try your hand at 1D trivia and win prizes! Superbowl of Birding X

The Superbowl of Birding is a great way to spend the day outdoors with family.

Come to northeastern Massachusetts and southeastern New Hampshire for great winter birding and a chance to compete with other birders. The Superbowl of Birding is a unique competition to find the greatest number of species and to earn the greatest number of points based on the rarity of the birds recorded. Strategy and planning are essential in order to win this competition! Sponsored by Joppa Flats Education Center and Nikon.

Fossils and Prehistoric Sea Life at Maritime Gloucester

Kids pre-k through grade 5 will love the programs at Maritime Gloucester!

Maritime Gloucester invites kids to a vacation week session about Fossils and Prehistoric Sea Life - part of a week full of educational sessions during February vacation! What can fossils teach us about prehistoric sea life and ancient oceans?  What is paleontology?  Children will examine three prehistoric eras and discover prehistoric creatures such as spiny trilobites, whale-sized fishes, and ferocious marine reptiles.

Octopus and Squid Printing Lab at Maritime Gloucester

Maritime Gloucester invites kids to a vacation week Octopus and Squid Printing Lab - part of a week full of educational sessions during February vacation! Did you know that some squid glow in the dark, cuttlefish communicate through color, and that a certain octopus can mimic a variety of sea creatures?  Children will investigate the cephalopods, a group of intelligent mollusks that includes the octopus, squid, nautilus, and cuttlefish.
