Newburyport Parks is thrilled to present the third annual Americana Rhythm & Roots Festival on Newburyport’s beautiful central waterfront. This free concert features roots music stars NRBQ, Thornetta Davis and Po’ Ramblin’ Boys. Seventeen-year-old local guitar sensation Quentin Callewaert will open the festival. There will be fun for everyone with a beer garden featuring local microbrews, food trucks and fun activities for the kids.

Families will examine our collection of bird nests to study how they're built and what materials were used in their construction. We'll explore the trails looking for nests and places where birds might build them. On our return, we will create our own nests using natural materials.
Come and join us for this family fishing experience! Go to the Accessible Trail parking lot at 40 Asbury Street (left turn just inside the park gates past the old gray farm house) for a FREE drop-in program for ages 6+. Follow the trail fishing signs for a short walk to the fishing spot. Learn how to fish, what fish live in the Ipswich River, and how to catch and release responsibly. No experience or license required.
