Explore downtown shops as well as craft vendor booths from artisans all over New England! Bring the kids in the morning for children's entertainment in Market Square the annual Scarecrow Contest.

This Columbus Day, join us at the Stevens-Coolidge Place for a day of free outdoor family fun! Play lawn games including ring toss, corn hole, tic tac toe, checkers, bocce, and badminton. Visit our craft table and take home a treasure from the day.  Go on a Fall nature-based scavenger hunt and explore the beautiful grounds and gardens.

Mid-October is an excellent time to take in the spectacular and stunning colors provided by the Ipswich River. The riverside silver maples will be showing off their yellow-gold, while the cattails and other marsh grasses will provide beautiful greens and browns, all set against the winding blues and blacks of the river. Have your family join us for a few hours as we explore this pristine habitat via a gentle paddle in canoes. With a little luck we might encounter a beaver, otter, or muskrat as well!

Bartlet Mall Day is a fun family afternoon with live music hayrides and more in Newburyport Massachusetts
Learn about the history of the Barlet Mall, including information on Victorian era landscape architect Charles Eliot, the significance of the George Washington statue, the oldest functioning courthouse in the nation, how rope was made at the Mall, and a World War I memorial to a native son. Newburyport Preservation Trust, Historic New England, the Old Museum of Newbury, and others will be on hand to share their knowledge.

The Salem Zombie Walk is a fun time for all, and kinda scary! Salem Massachusetts Haunted Happenings
The Salem Zombiewalk has been an annual event for a number of years. This is a great family-friendly event of a genre that incorporates all aspects of life, or rather, undead that takes place in Halloweentown, USA during Halloween Season. Prior to the Zombiewalk, participants gather at Collins Cove Park for some field day activities, last minute costume tweaks and alterations, and of course to admire other lovers of the Zombie theme. Pets are welcome, so long as they are crowd friendly and well-behaved (and don't mind Zombies). Details are on the official flyer, please look for it on Facebook, and share the event. Fun activities start at 3:30pm with zombie kickball, parade at 4:30.
