Hamilton-Wenham Public Library invites kids aged 11 older to a course designed by the American Red Cross to prepare youth with the training every parent wants in a babysitter: safety, basic child care, safe play, first aid and critical emergency skills, and professional leadership and care-giving skills.

Green Meadows Farm is hosting a road/trail race put on by the National Farmers Market Association. Highlights of this event will include a 1 mile race, a fun run and 5k trail/road race. This is not just a race, though. There's plenty of fun stuff to do at the farm that make this a day long celebration for family and friends of the runners with educational demos, music, children activities, celebrity chefs from the greater Boston area, farmers market and the local craft brewer community.

 

M is for Museum: Generations of Games teaches children to play outdoor games that children have enjoyed for centuries. Hands on exploration is a fundamental concept at Wenham Museum and Wenham Museum’s M is for Museum programs have been designed to introduce even our youngest visitors to museum concepts in a fun interactive setting.

Hamilton-Wenham Mothers Club 100 Year Anniversary Community Celebration

June 8 will mark the Hamilton-Wenham Mothers' Club 100th Anniversary celebration which will also include the annual teddy bear picnic. This is the longest-standing tradition in the Hamilton-Wenham Mothers Club. It is a public event held every summer and this year we have invited more than 500 past and current members as well as the general public to recognize and honor the club. Rockport Music will host a FREE concert followed by a discussion of the creative process for young composers at the Shalin Liu Performance Center. Hear the music and words of four prolific, prize-winning, teenaged composers -- Nicholas Davies, Lev Mamuya, Christopher Staknys, and Matthew Woodard. Each will perform their own composition and will discuss their work and the creative process with composer Howard Frazin. Rockport Music Executive Director Tony Beadle moderates. Start Your Memorial day with a run/walk to honor a local veteran

Start your Memorial Day weekend with a 5k or 10k run or walk to honor the memory of a local Saugus veteran. Scott J. Procopio was on his second deployment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, having previously served in Fallujah in 2005. He was killed in action as a result of a roadside bomb on the morning of April 2, 2006 in Ramadi Iraq. The Race will start in Saugus Center.

 

Curiosity companions explore Bungalow Hill, Clarke's Pond, and Ocean Lawn discovering the wonders of nature-with all senses. This program is for young children accompanied by their favorite adult, who are guided around the Coolidge Estate by a trained 'Curiosity Companion'.

Manchester Athletic Club Sports Performance Training for kids

FUNStart Sports Performance Training is designed for kids, ages 4-5 years old. This is a key time to develop speed, coordination, flexibility, balance and mobility. On top of that, kids can gain strength and learn basic movement patterns needed in most every sport. This type of activity is the basis for future athletic development.

This class meets one time per week for 45 min. Each class focuses on fun, but key, athletic movement patterns and sports which will support the development of coordination, strength, speed and flexibility. Most importantly, these kids will build confidence to take along their journey in lots of other ways!

 

Tennis Programs for kids and adults at Manchester Athletic Club in Manchester MA

Manchester Athletic Club Tennis Camp makes tennis fun for kids that want to get started playing tennis or want to take their game to the next level. MAC Tennis Camp uses USTA’s nationally recognized Ten and Under Tennis format for developing junior tennis players. The USTA format program gets kids playing tennis on age appropriate sized courts so that every participant can experience success.

 

In Manchester, legion members and parade participants will assemble Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Amaral-Bailey Post 113 for a brief seaside service. Wreaths and flowers will be dropped into the harbor in remembrance of those lost at sea. The parade then will move on to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery to salute fallen armed-forces personnel.

 

Manchester Festival by the Sea celebrates art on Cape Ann

This annual festival will feature local artists' booths, live music, and locally grown and prepared foods, culminating in a free family concert in harborside Masconomo Park. This all-day event will highlight not only the idyllic beauty of Cape Ann, but also the incredible talent for which the area has become synonymous.

 

Memorial Day ceremonies in Beverly Farms are hosted  by the Michael J. Cadigan American Legion Post. Veterans march a 1-mile route from Private Anthony Rezza Road to West Beach, with stops at seven locations to lay wreaths at memorials honoring veterans, where ancestors of veterans are active participants. The parade leaves Rezza Road at 9:30 a.m. and ends at West Beach where a howitzer and rifle salutes, and the tossing of wreaths into the water to honor those who died at sea.

In lieu of a Memorial Day Parade, Beverly has decided to hold a ceremony at Odell Park to facilitate the needs of older veterans who would like to participate, but are unable to complete the parade route due to physical limitations. All of the elements that usually make up the parade, including veterans groups, police and fire color guards, Scouts, ROTC students and the high school band, will take part in the ceremony at the park.

In this course by Family & Friends CPR, you will learn how to properly identify and care for breathing, choking, and cardiac emergencies with infants, children and adults. Infant and child CPR is indispensable for parents, babysitters, teachers, program staff, and anyone else who is in frequent contact with infants and small children. This is a non-certified course and is intended for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a completion card or other certification.
