Mother & Baby Support Groups at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport MA
Mother & Baby Groups Anna Jaques is pleased to offer free group classes for all mothers in our community to provide support, encouragement and advice on parenthood and questions that arise after going home. Formerly named Lactation Support Groups, the Mother & Baby Group is facilitated by a Lactation Consultant/Registered Nurse to support every woman’s mothering experience. You do not need to be a breastfeeding mom to enjoy this group. All aspects of mothering are discussed. Guest speakers will present periodically on topics such as car seat safety, infant nutrition, and infant growth & development. Drop-ins welcome! Mother & Baby: Newburyport & Haverhill This group meets on Tuesdays from 10:00am-11:45am at Anna Jaques and at 2 Water Street in Haverhill on Thursdays from 10:30am-12:00pm. Guest speakers present periodically on topics such as car seat safety, infant nutrition, and infant growth and development. No registration needed, open to all mothers and babies.

Come to Mendel Observatory for stargazing sessions every Wednesday night.
The Observatory, with the support of volunteers from the North Shore Amateur Astronomy Club, hosts public stargazing every Wednesday night (weather permitting) starting at dusk or 7 p.m., whichever is later.  When special astronomical events of interest occur (total lunar eclipses, etc.) the Observatory often holds special viewing times.  Check the Observatory Status Page before coming as it will state whether observatory is open for the evening.

Come find out as we guide you on a winter walk to keep minds and bodies active with group games, family challenges, and lots of great wildlife and bird sightings. We'll meet at Joppa Flats, then hop into our cars and head out for the day's adventure. All field equipment will be provided. Join us for one or more of these fun family programs during the holidays!

These December vacation programs are designed for families with creative, curious, and active preschoolers. Each 90-minute session offers a structured series of activities including original songs, movement, dramatic play, hands-on science, and a thematic snack. We'll give you coloring pages to take home, and you'll receive song lyrics, vocabulary, a fun-fact sheet, and a suggested reading list in an electonic goody bag after each class.
