Maudslay State Park's Family Fun Day has a lot to offer in events and activities
Come to Maudslay State Park to start off Yankee Homecoming Super Saturday with good family fun!  Many local businesses, organizations and non-profits take part in our Family Day fun offering free crafts, games, activities and handouts.  Sit down for some lunch and listen to the band playing on the main stage or watch one of the performances taking part throughout the park.

Meet at Frye Pond Beach - Fish, frogs, snakes, and salamanders, let’s discover what lives in our tranquil New England ponds!  Nets and buckets are provided.  This activity can be wet and muddy.Recommend bringing water, insect repellent, sun screen, binoculars and camera.Appropriate for all ages.

It's a great place to come find healthy choices for your family's dietary needs, as well as meet local crafts people and artisans! This is a great community resource that strengthens social bonds and interactions, and helps local food producers by creating a direct to consumer channel for their produce and other goods! Yankee Homecoming Annual Bed Race
The Newbuyrport Yankee Homecoming Bed Race is an annual event in Newburyport hosted by the Lions Club of Newburyport.  The race is a ¼ mile team sprint down Federal Street to the finish line. Each team consists of 3 pushers, 2 pullers and a 'sleeper', and the goal is to get to the finish line with the bed and sleeper in the fastest time!   This is a fun event for the communityr and always draws a big crowd.  Come cheer on your favorite team, or just watch the fun! Funds raised will go to Lions Club charities.

Join The Trustees of Reservations as they celebrate the July's Buck Moon!  August's full moon was called the Sturgeon Moon by North American fishing tribes, who knew that the sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during this full moon. Colonial Americans dubbed this moon the Dog Days Moon; it is also known as the Green Corn Moon, the Grain Moon, and the Red Moon, for the reddish hue it often takes on in the sultry summer haze.

Bring your favorite Stuffies to the Teddy Bear Picnic at the Trustees of Reservations' Stevens-Coolidge Estate in North Andover
Join The Trustees of Reservations at the Stevens Coolidge Place for a a fun afternoon of Teddy Bears and Tea! There will be a storytime and picnic at the teddy bear garden.  We will begin with an hour of activities, crafts, sing-a-longs and a Bear Hunt, followed by a picnic with light refreshments provided. Stuffed animal best friends encouraged to attend!

Meet at Frye Pond Beach - Great family fun for everyone interested in learning the basics of pond fishing in New England. All fishing tackle and bait is provided. Recommend bringing insect repellent, water, sun screen and a camera. Appropriate for children over 6 years old.
